EnBW successfully modernized its HR landscape through the enterprise-wide EnABLE:HR transformation. To drive adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working, Detecon implemented a scalable change, communication, and training approach. The result: high organizational readiness, strong user adoption, nearly 90% training participation, and a smooth rollout across the entire group.

    EnBW launched the group-wide transformation program EnABLE:HR to fundamentally modernize its HR system landscape and processes. The introduction of multiple core systems (e.g., Workday, SAP H4S4 and ECM solutions) required significant changes not only in technology, but also in roles, processes, and ways of working.

    A two-stage rollout approach with a pilot and subsequent group-wide go-live increased complexity and required strong organizational readiness. At the same time, the transformation was embedded in a broader strategic shift towards a more digital, efficient and employee-centric HR function.

    To ensure acceptance across diverse stakeholder groups and to enable a smooth transition, EnBW required a comprehensive change, communication and training (CCT) approach, that supported organizational readiness and helped employees and leaders successfully adapt to new systems, processes, and ways of working.

    Detecon supported EnBW end-to-end in designing and implementing a scalable, integrated CCT approach based on its Responsive Change methodology.

    The approach combined strategic change management, communication governance, and workforce enablement to support sustainable transformation adoption across the organization. Core elements included:

    • Structured change impact analyses to derive target group-specific measures

    • Development of a scalable training strategy with train-the-trainer concept, learning journeys and digital learning formats

    • Design and execution of role-based communication formats for management, employees and HR

    • Establishment and activation of HR and business multiplier networks to anchor change sustainably

    • Continuous evaluation of effectiveness through feedback, KPIs and iterative optimization

    The approach was successfully implemented during the pilot rollout and systematically scaled and refined for the enterprise-wide go-live in May 2026.
