Enterprise Architecture: Foundation, Practitioner, Leader.
General information about the courses
Digitalization is “architecture”, the complex interplay of business, data, applications, and digital technologies. But how can this interplay be systematically described, developed, implemented, and operated? This is all the more important in the age of AI: Anyone who wants to successfully scale AI within their company needs a methodological foundation, and this is exactly where enterprise architecture comes in.
Our TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture live online courses, officially accredited by The Open Group and based on the TOGAF Standard, 10th Edition, provide you with the methodological foundation to systematically lead digital transformation projects to success and lay the groundwork for AI transformation, in an interactive remote format, whether you work in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
The training courses provide intensive preparation for the TOGAF® EA Foundation, TOGAF® EA Practitioner, and TOGAF® EA Leader certifications. You’ll take the certification exam within one year of completing the training, either via online proctoring from the comfort of your home or at an exam center near you, available throughout Germany (e.g., Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Freiburg, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Cologne, Leipzig, Marburg, Munich, Nuremberg, Osnabrück, Passau, Stuttgart, Ulm, Würzburg), Austria (e.g., Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Vienna), and Switzerland. The TOGAF certificate is valid indefinitely.

FAQs about TOGAF certification.
How do the TOGAF EA Foundation, Practitioner, and Leader courses differ?
The Foundation course covers the basic terms, concepts, and methods of the enterprise architecture discipline.
The Practitioner course delves deeper into this content, examines it from an application perspective, and applies it through a case study.
The Leader course focuses on establishing, managing, and professionalizing an organizational architecture function, known as an “EA Capability.”
Can I take the Practitioner or Leader course right away without first taking the Foundation course?
A Foundation certificate is not required for the Practitioner course; however, prior knowledge at the Foundation level is expected. The Practitioner exam can only be taken, however, if the Foundation certificate has been earned. A Foundation certificate is an explicit prerequisite for the Leader course.
Can I take the TOGAF exams online?
Yes, the exams can be taken online from home. To do so, you must install a SafeExam browser, which enables video-monitored testing. Online exam dates are available on short notice, sometimes as early as the next day and can also be booked on weekends or during off-peak hours.
How long do the TOGAF exams take and how many questions can I expect?
For the Foundation exam, participants from the D-A-CH region are given 90 minutes to answer 40 multiple-choice questions.
For the Practitioner exam, candidates have 120 minutes to answer 8 text-heavy scenario-based questions, also with multiple-choice answers. This includes 30 additional minutes for candidates whose native language is not English.
For the Leader exam, candidates have 45 minutes to answer 30 short-answer questions.
How long do I need to prepare for the TOGAF exams?
After taking our two-day course, participants are generally well prepared for the exam. In most cases, a few hours of focused review using the practice questions and mock exams we provide are sufficient to pass the exam. Some participants pass the exam as early as the very next day.
Are the TOGAF exams also available in German?
No, the exams are currently only available in English or French.
Where can I find the nearest test center?
TOGAF exams can be taken at Pearson VUE test centers. Click this link and use the “Find a Test Center” feature to locate the nearest test center.
How much time do I have after the course to take the TOGAF exam?
The voucher you receive during the course is valid for one year. The exam must be taken within that period.
How long are TOGAF certificates valid? Are there any additional costs?
TOGAF certificates are valid indefinitely. There are no additional fees for obtaining the certificate.
Are there other enterprise architecture frameworks besides TOGAF?
The TOGAF standard is a comprehensive, widely adopted, and industry-neutral enterprise architecture framework. In addition, there are smaller or more specialized frameworks, such as the Zachman Framework, the NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) for the defense sector, and the iSAQB curriculum in the field of software architecture.
Does the training also cover the topic of Artificial Intelligence?
Yes. In addition to the accredited TOGAF content, each course includes a practical module on AI and enterprise architecture: How can AI support architecture work (e.g., in documentation, analysis, and governance)? And how do architecture methodologies lay the groundwork for a successful AI transformation within an organization, from identifying suitable use cases to data architecture and AI governance? However, the topic of AI is not part of the TOGAF certification exams.
