Among other things, the "Digital Rail Germany" project is ensuring the modernization of Deutsche Bahn's telecommunications networks. The basis for this are fiber optics, radios, and sensors - the GSM-R standard (Global System for Mobile Communications - Rail) will thus be replaced by the future 5G-based railroad radio system FRMCS (Future Railway Mobile Communication System). The Detecon tool NETWORKS will be used for the implementation. The tool maps network analysis and planning as well as strategic network construction scenarios.
