Detecon, part of the Deutsche Telekom Group, advises operators, regulators, governments, and development finance institutions across Asia-Pacific on technology investments that have to stand up commercially.
You build the numbers behind those investments and take them to the client’s leadership. You work from our Bangkok hub, side by side with our technology consultants.

What you can expect
- Build business cases and financial models from a blank sheet: revenue and cost forecasts, CAPEX/OPEX, cash flow, TCO, NPV/IRR, scenarios and sensitivities
- Turn engineering inputs such as site counts, spectrum, traffic and rollout plans into investment economics, and challenge the inputs that do not hold
- Size markets, forecast demand, test pricing and benchmark competitors for operators, infrastructure players and investors
- Work on regulatory and public-sector economics: spectrum valuation, cost models and feasibility studies for governments and development finance institutions
- Distil the analysis into one recommendation, present it to client executives and defend the numbers in the room
- Shape proposals: commercial approach, scope and effort
- Typical engagements: business cases, feasibility studies, investment reviews, pricing, regulatory economics
- Consultant (typically 2+ years): you own defined parts of the model and the analysis, end to end
- Senior Consultant (typically 4+ years): you also lead a workstream, review others' models and run client sessions
Ready for Detecon?
- A degree in economics, finance, business, industrial engineering or another quantitative field
- Experience in consulting, transaction advisory, corporate strategy or commercial planning
- Telecom or digital infrastructure experience: you know how a network turns into revenue, cost and cash. Operators, towers, fibre, data centres, satellite, regulators and telecom advisory all count
- You build models yourself, in Excel, from a blank sheet. This will be tested by us.
- You write the storyline before the slides, and every slide you make carries one message
- You take ownership: you find the data, make the call and stand behind it in front of the client
- Fluent English. Thai, Bahasa Indonesia/Malay or Tagalog/Filipino is a plus, as are Power BI, SQL and Python
- You can be deployed on client sites across Asia-Pacific, including multi-week assignments
