A close, trusting relationship with partners and customers is at the heart of successful digital business models: this is the conclusion of a cross-industry survey of executive boards of medium-sized and large companies conducted by the management consultancy Detecon. More than 25 percent of the top managers surveyed see such a, digital ecosystem as the most important success factor for the implementation of their digital strategy, followed by scale and network effects in second place. "Digitalization is as demanding as a heptathlon," says Volker Rieger, Managing Partner and Head of Sector Energy at Detecon. "The experts confirm to us that partner and customer management is the supreme discipline."
With the development of new, digital business models, the decisive factors which lead to success are also changing - both on the market and in organizational implementation. In a comprehensive analysis, Detecon asked nearly 80 CxOs about the success factors of digital business models.
