Detecon Alumni Today: Sebastian Kohler

From when to when did you work at Detecon? What was your position?

I first worked at Detecon as an intern in the summer of 2016. After my semester abroad in Mexico, I immediately rejoined the company as a working student in the then "Telecommunications Cluster". With the completion of my studies in the late summer of 2017, I finally received the opportunity to join the Swiss national company (Detecon Schweiz AG) in Zurich as a Business Analyst. Here I was able to experience two very exciting years.

What were the most exciting Detecon moments for you?

At this point, I could go into great detail, as there were definitely a lot of them. In terms of content, I always look back with pleasure on a very exciting innovation project with a focus on novel web architectures. Of course, the best moments within Detecon were always characterized by the many great colleagues I was able to get to know. In addition to the countless evenings spent together in various Zurich bars and restaurants, the trips to Lisbon and Tel Aviv with the Detecon internal "Young Consultant Community" were of course an absolute highlight and remain unforgettable.

What was the next step for you after Detecon?

In the summer of 2019, I moved to Munich, where I joined a small boutique consultancy with a focus on C-Level Advisory. After a short, very exciting and above all instructive excursion as a start-up founder, I am now active as an independent management consultant. I have also specialized in C-Level Executive Search.

What did you take away from your time at Detecon for your future career?

A lot. I owe a lot to Detecon as my first employer and to my superiors at the time (greetings go out at this point). Above all, I was able to develop as a person.

What did you appreciate most about Detecon?

The open and, above all, family culture - Detecon is a place and employer where you make friends for life. I am still in close contact with some of my colleagues today and always look forward to seeing them again.
