Detecon receives award for business transformation project!

“Best of Consulting Award” from Wirtschaftswoche

Cologne/Düsseldorf, December 14, 2020. As in the previous year, the management and technology consulting firm Detecon has received an award in the renowned "Best of Consulting" competition organized annually by Wirtschaftswoche. Detecon took second place with a digitization project in the category "Marketing" and received the award "Excellent". Ulrike Eberhard (Managing Partner) and the team members Fabio Endler Kahil, Marco Biasibetti, and Benjamin Pewzner had carried out a project for Tigo - the main brand of the multinational telecommunications provider Millicom - to transform the business strategy with a focus on digitization and customer experience.

Best-of-Consulting in the category „Marketing“, Focus Digitization“ (F.l.t.r.): Fabio Endler Kahil, Ulrike Eberhard, Benjamin Pewzner, Marco Biasibetti

Specifically, the Detecon consultants were awarded for a concept which, thanks to its standardized design, enables rapid implementation in nine Central and South American countries where Tigo is present. Key cornerstones were the design of the product and service portfolio as well as innovative distribution channels integrated into an omnichannel approach which will enable Tigo to advance its strategy towards becoming a leading provider of convergent fixed-mobile services. Another key element was the design of attractive and end-to-end digital customer journeys to make it easier for customers to use the new digital services.

"One of the decisive factors for the success of the project was the uniform design principles we applied," explains Ulrike Eberhard. "All requirements and processes, as well as the convergent customer journeys, were designed in a consistent and coordinated manner." In total, more than 3,000 design elements were created in high quality to ensure the best possible customer experience.

"Detecon's project activities were very professionally executed and support Tigo's transformation from a technology-driven organization to a customer and business-driven one," confirms Miguel Garay, Vice President Customer Experience at Millicom. "Both digital and IT architecture now directly follow the business strategy. We aim to complete the implementation by mid-2021. This transformation project will enable us to offer our customers an ever better experience and innovative elements in the future."
