Detecon, the Consulting Pillar of the New German Digital Service Provider

New portfolio unit for digitization launched

Digital Consulting & Engineering Made in Germany

Detecon's Beyond Consulting and ecosystem approach will be further accelerated

Cologne, 25.04.2018: The leading management and technology consultancy Detecon, T-Systems Multimedia Solutions (MMS), and the digitally oriented divisions of T-Systems Global Systems Integration (SI) are bundling their competencies to create one of the largest integrated digital providers in Germany. Detecon is contributing its consulting competencies to this new portfolio unit that will deliver digital consulting, co-innovation, technology, integration, and reliability from a single source.

The aim is to offer tailored digitalization solutions Made in Germany that will benefit clients from both large corporate groups and midsize businesses — from consulting services to the development of technological solutions and complete integration. A total of about 4,800 digitalization experts will be standing by to form flexible and agile teams of interdisciplinary staffs appropriate to specific demands to accompany and guide clients during the digital transformation process.

As a member of this new alliance, Detecon is driving forward its consulting approach Beyond Consulting, a significant evolutionary step forward in traditional consulting methods adapted to meet the demands of digitalization today and in the future. The concept features top consulting that covers the entire spectrum from innovation to implementation. Groundbreaking digital consulting demands ever greater technology expertise and a high degree of agility that incorporates flexible, but precisely fitting networking of experts for complex, digital ecosystems in particular. At the same time, it is more and more important in digital consulting to accompany clients from innovation to prototyping to implementation.  This factor prompted Detecon to found the Digital Engineering Centers for Cyber Security, Analytical Intelligence, Co-Innovation, and Industrial IoT in Berlin in 2017 as facilities that extend the added-value chain of consulting and accelerate the realization of digital strategies and solutions by means of prototypes and proofs of concept.

Beyond Consulting: “We practice what we preach!”

“Practice what you preach — in keeping with this motto, we put our trust in co-innovation and eco-systems for ourselves as well as for our clients. We call this understanding of consulting for the future ‘Beyond Consulting,’” emphasizes Detecon CEO Heinrich Arnold. “Our engagement in this new alliance is simply the next logical milestone and forges a strong added-value chain within Telekom Group as well. By standing shoulder to shoulder with T-Systems MMS and the digital divisions of T-Systems System Integration, we can secure a powerful penetrative force for our market access and represent asset-based consulting at its best.”

The clients of the new digital provider will profit in particular from the existing international partner network of T-Systems that includes Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft, and others. As a part of Telecom, the new digital service provider is the only provider from Germany that can combine cloud, IoT, security, and fast networks like 5G with consulting and integration for digital transformation.

The European path of digitalization

Values such as Made in Germany and the European path of digitalization are especially important to CEO Heinrich Arnold: “The current discussion about social media platforms is yet another indication of how much the digital world needs a European path, at least for the industries where market shares have not yet become fixed. Both the ‘creative destruction’ with global ambitions fired by venture capital such as is coming from Silicon Valley or state protectionism such as in China are crossing important boundaries. We can hold our own against these trends with our European skills: reliability, credibility, security, sustainability, and the quality of critical infrastructures,” noted Arnold.

Effective immediately, more than 1,500 management consultants and digitalization and industry experts, about 700 digital platform and architecture experts, over 500 DevOps specialists, and about 300 data analysts and big data experts have been brought together under the roof of the new digitalization provider led by Heinrich Arnold, Peter Lorenz (Senior Vice President SI), and Peter Klingenburg (Managing Director MMS) and are ready and able to turn this vision into reality.
