Simone Wamsteker Bolsters Detecon’s Management Team
Human resources expert becomes CHRO and third managing director
- New member of senior management
- CHRO heightens awareness of people issues at the C-level
- Enhanced scope of sustainability and diversity topics
Cologne, 16 March 2021 – Simone Wamsteker joins the management team of the management and technology consultancy Detecon International as chief human resources officer (CHRO). Deutsche Telekom’s own group management consultancy and subsidiary of T-Systems supports clients globally and across all industries during their digital transformation processes. In her position as CHRO, Wamsteker has overall responsibility for human resources (HR) and will continue to drive forward the topics of diversity and sustainability.
“I am extraordinarily delighted that Simone Wamsteker is joining our management team as CHRO,” said Ralf Pichler, Detecon CEO. “Consulting at Detecon is first and foremost a people business. In my view, that makes it all the more important that HR concerns are represented by a dedicated role at the top management level. Owing to her extensive experience, both in consulting and in people management, Simone is ideally qualified for this position and will help us to build Detecon into the leading digital consultancy.”
Most recently employed as Global HR Director at Boston Consulting Group, Wamsteker has had more than 20 years of experience in consulting and HR. While a consultant at Accenture, for example, she carried out successful change management projects before moving to the HR side there where she held various positions, including recruiting director and HR service delivery lead, for the German-speaking region.
Wamsteker sees digital transformation, Detecon’s core business, and people management as two sides of the same coin. “Digitalization makes possible work cultures in which employees are individually supported in their strengths and given the space to thrive under optimal conditions – to everyone’s benefit,” said Wamsteker. “Detecon bears witness to this philosophy in its consulting approach to the outside world, but practices this conviction within its own organization as well. I want to strengthen this culture and expand it even further in the sense of employer branding and Detecon’s general focus on digitalization!”
As she works toward both this goal and the ongoing digitalization of the HR department, a particular focus of her work will be on the topics of diversity and sustainability. The objectives are to realize even more profoundly the values of diversity, equality, and inclusion and to shape the company in the spirit of comprehensive sustainability.
