Thomas Switala

Thomas is Partner for Detecon International based in the San Francisco and is leading the North Americas business as Managing Director for Detecon Inc.

He has over 20 years of experience in the Telco industry and is responsible for assisting organization develop new generation network Infrastructures and bring them to scale globally. His passion is to ensure connectivity reaches the unconnected and finding new innovative ways of connecting them. Before joining the USA office, he was located in Johannesburg as an Associated Partner for Detecon International as part of the Network Infrastructure Practice.

His experience comes from building and operating networks in emerging market and later being part of the team responsible for the IP Business Development of Alcatel-Lucent in Europe and Central Asian countries, designing and architecting networks for some of the largest European telecommunication providers.
