Felix Kirsten is an experienced communications consultant with proven experience in the telecommunications industry. He has experience in 5G, edge computing, fixed and mobile network modeling, prototyping and network rollout management.
Felix graduated from the Technical University of Dresden in early 2015 with a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in radio network engineering. While studying for his master’s, Felix participated in international research projects at the Vodafone Chair for Mobile Communications Systems and published several papers on 4G and 5G radio network optimization and reliability. After graduation, he worked at a German network infrastructure vendor where he was involved in planning and integrating IP and fiber networks for industrial applications.
Since joining Detecon in 2016, Felix has worked on a variety of projects in the fields of Edge Computing, network optimization, and 5G applications. He has aided numerous clients in Europe and North America in the planning, building, and conduct of tailored trials based on latest use cases in the fields of AR, VR, drones, and 5G connectivity. Furthermore, Felix has a strong project experience on 5G use cases, for example in augmented reality, virtual reality, resilience and latency, as well as their implementation in prototype projects. He also supported open innovation partner programs with specialized suppliers and startups in their execution. Through national and cross-regional network rollout projects, he has several years of experience in the analysis, planning and modeling of transport networks such as xWDM, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, Corporate WAN and various RAN technologies.
