  • Management consultancy and T-Systems subsidiary Detecon is automating its financial processes in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud and, together with Deutsche Telekom Services Europe SE, the group’s multi-shared service center, is implementing the interface to SAP BCM (Bank Communication Management) within the corporate group.
  • Successful financial integration of Concur and SAP OpenText in the cloud
  • Automated financial processes increase efficiency and create space for strategic tasks.

Cologne, 21 July 2020. In the course of its implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the management and technology consultancy Detecon, a T-Systems subsidiary and Deutsche Telekom company, has completely integrated the financial processes contained in the program with the existing system landscape of a corporate group. In collaboration with SAP, the Company has created an interface to the group-based module SAP BCM (SAP module of the Payment Factory of Deutsche Telekom Group). Payments from customers or to suppliers can now be initiated fully automatically in the cloud and further processed and effected using the legacy corporate systems.

At the same time, Detecon and SAP cooperated in realizing in a client project an extensive integration of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud with the travel expense management tool Concur, the document management OpenText, and others. All financial, payment, and reporting processes have been digitalized and automated and can run across all systems, creating maximum transparency for ongoing revenues and transactions in real time.

Thanks to the successful realization of these integration scenarios in the cloud – previously regarded as highly complex – Detecon benefits from the high standard of efficiency resulting from the full automation and standardization of all financial processes. Moreover, each further release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud automatically provides new digital innovations and features without tying up Detecon’s own resources for their development.

Detecon’s CFO Sven Erdmann emphasized: “The digital future is in the cloud! And as an early adopter, we ourselves practice what we preach to our clients. This also means a willingness to question established processes. We believe that the positive pressure to standardize financial processes in the cloud will allow our employees to devote more of their time to strategic tasks.”
