Accelerating Digitalization in Schools:

Detecon and m2more Enter into Partnership

  • Experts for digitalization and public institutions pool their expertise
  • Detecon and m2more support schools in the creation and realization of media development plans, qualifying schools to obtain grants from the program DigitalPakt School
  • Advanced training and IT operations further elements of the planning

Cologne/ Berlin, 30 September 2020. Detecon and m2more are providing support to schools as they move to the digital classroom and are pooling their competencies to enhance effectiveness. The two partners will be collaborating to counsel schools throughout Germany during preparation of media development plans (MDPs) and their implementation. Taking these actions qualifies the schools to receive funding from the federal government’s DigitalPakt School program. Five  billion euros have been earmarked for this program since last year, but as of this moment, only a fraction of this amount has actually been granted. Among other issues, there has been a lack of experts in media education and IT operations who could advise school boards and schools and guide them on their journey towards digitalization.

The new partners intend to change this. Detecon is an expert for digital transformation. m2more specializes in digitalization consulting for organizations and public institutions in the fields of education and media. The new collaborators are familiar with the challenges facing the schools, but they also know what factors lead to success in the use of digital media.

After completing a comprehensive analysis, the companies work with the schools and their school boards to develop a vision for the use of digital media. These data are then fed into the MDP. But the partners offer even more: guidance in project and change management, concepts for IT operations, for service and support, for advanced training – and, if desired, always support during realization. School boards benefit from professional support on their journey to the “digital school.” The schools themselves obtain a sense of security in the integration of digital technology and its daily operation in close alignment with their needs. And teachers learn how to utilize digital media, tools, and content in class with confidence and as appropriate in today’s world.

It goes without saying that the two partners also consider such important aspects as data protection, sustainability, and follow-up costs in all their projects.
