From when to when did you work at Detecon? In which function?

I started at Detecon in July 2009 as a Business Analyst in the Strategic Technologies Group immediately after my studies. I left Detecon as a Senior Consultant after five exciting years and various projects.

What were the most exciting Detecon moments for you?

The most exciting part were the six months in 2011 in San Francisco at Detecon Inc. The opportunity to get to know Silicon Valley there and to have direct contact with the various tech companies was a very special experience. But the various projects were also exciting, such as the development of a mobile communications wholesale strategy for a telecommunications group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, or the development of an IPTV wholesale offer for Telekom Deutschland in Bonn. In addition, the events of the Young Consultant Network (YCN) were also a great offer.

What company do you work for today? What is your primary field of work there?

After Detecon I worked for another four years at PwC in the consulting business for digitization in medium-sized businesses before I moved to my current employer at the BMW Group in 2018. I work there as an Enterprise Architect in Group IT and deal with central IT development issues which affect the entire Group IT. This includes fundamental decisions on the selection of technology stacks or migration models to the cloud. In addition, together with colleagues I develop methods for architecture development and building in an agile environment, since BMW Group IT is undergoing a major transformation towards a purely agile organization.

What did you particularly appreciate at Detecon and what do you miss from the "old days"?

I particularly appreciated the size. Detecon was big enough to be able to acquire and deliver exciting projects, but not too big to lose the overview. This almost always made it possible to exchange information quite quickly without much effort and to work together across groups. The YCN events and the cross-departmental training in Vaals have certainly helped in this respect.

In which three hashtags do you describe Detecon?

Based on the VWV:

#Understanding - respect for the various skills and cultures
#Valuation - a good feedback culture not only between superiors and employees, but also between employees
#Trust - the trust of superiors
