A degree with honors is the basis for the start of your career. We are looking for graduates who have majored in the fields of economics, technology, or natural sciences.

Moreover, you have demonstrated during your studies that your horizon extends substantially farther than the next examination: one or more semesters of study abroad, internships, or perhaps even your initial experience in an international position. Ideally, you speak other foreign languages in addition to English. You decide whether you want to join us as an all-rounder or a specialist. If you choose the first option, you will focus on one or more industries. In the second case, you focus your work on a specific topic and apply what you know in projects for all industries. So you develop further both vertically and horizontally.

We expect dedication in many different aspects and multi-dimensional development from our consultants. We will support you as you align your career path along our four key dimensions Project, Client, Knowledge, and People and become a genuine Detecon consultant.

Client covers all activities related to client acquisition and the evolvement of client relationships.

Knowledge covers knowledge-sharing activities and activities involving the development of subjects and methods.

People covers internal networking activities and activities involving recruiting and evolvement of employees.

Project covers all activities within the framework of concrete projects, i.e., project assignments and project results.

You can depend on a strong network from the very first day. When you join Detecon, you automatically become a member of our YCN, which currently has a membership of about 200 young consultants from all over the globe. By young consultants for young consultants – that is the fundamental idea which is constantly being revitalized by the many programs and activities expediting the sharing of experience in all subjects.

In the YCN, you will meet colleagues who will be happy to help you along while you make your start at Detecon, enthusiastically and without regard for formalities. The YCN training programs will promote your further personal development. They concentrate on topics and skills which are important for young consultants in particular. The range of regular events is great: from the YCN dinner to bowling evenings to after-work parties and sports events. Enjoy the informal and relaxed atmosphere while you profit from the practical knowledge and experience of other consultants.

A special networking event is held twice a year. It takes its participants out into the world, to a city which is exemplary for networks, business, and culture. This is where you will meet Young Consultants from our international offices. Interesting talks by respected business speakers, discussions of digital developments, and the sharing of knowledge and experience are the leading topics on the agenda. Fun factor included! Leisure-time and cultural activities are the final touch to the program.

In addition to our open feedback culture and regular performance assessments, our diversified Detecon landscape will support you as you evolve professionally and personally – always along the lines of our 4 dimensions Project, Client, Knowledge, and People.

Your career development is primarily the responsibility of your People Development Leader. You will also be assigned a buddy and a mentor. Your buddy will help you to learn your way around the world of Detecon during the first six months. Your mentor, on the other hand, will be with you for a longer period and will focus on your personal development and career planning.

Corporate consultants work around the clock, are never at home, and do not have a personal life: a cliché, of course, but one with a kernel of truth. But performance at the highest level over the long term is simply impossible without a balance between work and leisure time. This is an area where we depend on breathing space, trust, and fairness. On the one hand, work clearly has to be given priority during critical project phases. But in other respects, you have a great deal of freedom in the scheduling of your workday – without supervision or time clocks. We trust you to do a good job.
